Congratulations Canada!

For the last two weeks, not much work got done, because of the Olympics. Now that its over we can get some work finished and some much needed sleep.

Congratulations to Canada for a great games. It didn't start off well, but it ended with a gold rush. We didn't own the whole podium, but we did own the only part that really mattered, the top spot. Fourteen gold medals, more than any other nation in the history of the Winter Olympics.

Lets keep waving that flag, wearing the canadian colours, showing our pride. Go Canada!

As everyone surely knows, Haiti is in desperate need of help from the International community. It was a country that was always in need, but with the earthquake they are in desperate need now. Its going to take years to rebuild, but right now the people of Haiti need medical supplies, food and water. They need stability to get back to their lives. So, if you can donate to the relief fund then do it, if you can't then just say a little prayer for them. At the side of this blog there is a link to the Red Cross, if you want to donate directly to them. Lets hope for the best for the people of Haiti.

Its been a while since our last post. We still have not gotten use to do regular posts. Well, in the new year, there will be changes to New Image Productions. And hopefully making regular posts will be one of the things we will be doing.

The Wedding Videos have been going through major changes in the last few years. HD has become the norm not the exception. Skits have disappeared. Shooting has become a lot more important than the editing. A professional shooter, with an eye for composition, lighting, exposure and a keen eye to capture moments that someone else would not notice, is more important today than 2o years ago. The films have become more cinematic, telling a story, not just a music video.

New Image has been making some changes throughout the last 2 years, and in 2010, we are making bigger changes. We will be offering High Definition for all our productions. HD has developed into something we can trust in the quality and we can now deliver that quality to you. In previous years, there wasn't a way anyone could give you an HD product. Also, good affordable HD cameras weren't available. Cameras had problems in low light situations. These issues have not been resolved completely but they are at an acceptable level for us to make the switch.

There are other changes that we will be implementing that will give you the client a better experience and production in the end. We look forward to working with you.

Keeping up with the blog

Well, I haven't been doing very well keeping up with the blog since we started it. Its been pretty busy the last few weeks. We are in the middle of the busiest time of the wedding season. So, with shooting pre-wedding videos, editing, meeting with clients, shooting wedding on the weekend, and trying to finish past projects, there hasn't been much time to update the blog. Hopefully, as we make the blog part of the regular routine, more posts will be done on a regular basis.

Now, for you part. When you do visit the blog, there are a couple of poll questions on the right hand side, that you could answer, plus you can comment on the videos that are currently posted. Your opinion is highly appreciated and welcomed.

When couples are deciding their wedding budgets, they prioritize what is most important. Some clients decide that video is not that important to them, and the reason they always give is " I am never going to watch it." Its a valid point. Nobody sits down every Saturday night, with a bowl of popcorn and watch their wedding video. But, its not about the times that you don't watch it. Its about the times that you do watch and you know you have it. It becomes more valuable as time goes by. When you have kids and grandkids. When important people in your life are no longer around. Then you appreciate that you decided to get your wedding day captured. Its about memories and how valuable are those?

The other thing people say is " I am getting photography, so I don't need video." Photography is great and an important aspect of a wedding. But photography does not capture voices, walks, music, speeches...... All these, I think are important when you look back 30 years from now and can relive that day.

New Website Launch and Blog

We have finally decided to jump on the blog bandwagon. So this will be our first post. Hopefully we will be able to post on regular basis. We will be mostly posting news about current projects and clients. You will find recent weddings that we have captured, along with engagement and concept videos. From time to time there will be promotions posted. This blog is being launched in conjunction with our brand new website. We thought it was time to revamp the site and post fresh new material. Its still a work in progress, but we will now be updating on a consistent basis. Everyone seems to do all their research online, so it seems important to keep the site updated and fresh.

There are new and exciting changes and add on services at New Image Productions. So stay tuned for new updates.
